Personal fitness program

#Personal fitness program
Rahul Gandhi has once again taken to the streets, this time with a “Voting Right March.” After walking north, south, east, and west, he has now decided to walk in circles. Apparently the Election Commission, the Supreme Court, and the Constitution itself cannot be trusted, but his legs surely can.

The Election Commission has already said, “No votes were stolen, the list is transparent,” but Rahul insists there’s a grand conspiracy. It seems, in his world, everyone from the local clerk to the Supreme Court judge is part of a Bollywood-style villain gang, except, of course, Rahul and his party.

The ruling parties call it misinformation; critics call it a gimmick; Rahul calls it a yatra. Maybe walking 1,300 km in 16 days is supposed to fix democracy. Or maybe it’s just a new way to keep the party workers’ fitness levels up. After all, if politics fails, at least they’ll all be ready for a marathon.

Managing such a march is no joke because it takes much money and man power. There may security problems too. Consistency has never been Congress’ strong point. Their messages change faster than Rahul’s beard styles. The march may grab headlines for a while, but whether it changes votes or just shoe soles is anybody’s guess.

In the end, the Voting Right March may be remembered less as a crusade for democracy and more as Rahul Gandhi’s personal fitness program, sponsored by misinformation and powered by confusion.
