Grip of alcohol

#Grip of alcohol
The recent tragic incident in Kottayam, where an employee was stoned to death for objecting to smoking while drinking inside a bar, serves as a grim reminder of the pervasive issue of liquor abuse in Kerala.

It is distressing to witness how such incidents reflect a broader trend of escalating alcohol-related problems plaguing our society. Families are being torn apart, individuals are succumbing to addiction, and the safety of our communities is compromised.

The state's lax policies on liquor sales have exacerbated the situation, particularly among the youth who are increasingly becoming prone to alcohol and drug abuse. It is imperative that immediate action is taken to address this crisis, including stricter regulations on liquor sales, enhanced education and awareness programs. Robust enforcement of laws to ensure the safety and well-being of our citizens is needed.

Failure to act swiftly will only perpetuate the cycle of suffering and despair in our communities. It is time for decisive action to reclaim Kerala from the grips of alcohol abuse and restore it as a safe and thriving environment for all.
